Elgeyo Marakwet residents urged to make good use of newly opened theater and a maternity wing.
Residents of Chebiemit and surrounding areas in Marakwet West Sub- county have been urged to take advantage of the services offered at Chebiemit county hospital after the county government of Elgeyo Marakwet opened a theatre and a modern maternity wing.
The theatre and the maternity wing is expected to offer a sigh of relief to local residents who have been traveling to Iten and Kapsowar for surgical procedures.
Deputy Governor Wisley Rotich who opened the facility said that the facilities at the hospital will go a long way in ensuring those seeking services access them with ease.
“The two crucial facilities will reduce decongestion in Iten County Referral Hospital” said Rotich adding that another theatre room at Kamwosor sub County hospital in Metkei ward will also be opened soon.
Rotich said that the county government will ensure that health facilities in the county are equiped to enable residents to access services easily.
Acting CEC health Isaac Kamar
said that the new staff recently recruited would bridge the gap of patient-doctor disparity which according to him had affected service delivery.
