The less fortunate who resides at Muiruti in Eldoret have something to smile about after they received food stuff worth Ksh. 2 Million from Hindu Council of Kenya- Uasin Gishu County chapter.
The council donated foodstuffs on behalf of the entire community to over 2,000 families targeting the elderly and less privileged in the society.
According to the HCK Chair Deepen Arun Bhat, who reitarated the fund’s commitment to integrity, said that the food stuff will provide immediate food relief to vulnerable households adding that their aim is to ensure that no one succumbs to hunger during this time of COVID-19 pandemic.
While calling on other donors, to follow the suit, Bhatt cited that kenyans are suffering due to coronavirus which has paralyzed all sectors in the country forcing Kenyans to remain indoors following the directives given by the National Government.
“This is an issue affecting all of us and as the Hindu Communities in Eldoret, we ask others to also offer their financial or any kind of support that will help the country and locals combat this deadly virus,” he said.
At the same time, Bhatt called on Kenyans to strictly observe the government’s directives which aims at ensuring the citizens Continues with their lives in the wake of the fast spreading infectious disease.
