Kapseret Member of Parliament Oscar Sudi and his Kimilili counterpart Didmus Barasa have criticized a section of Jubilee Party officials for changing members of a key party Commitee without involving its members.
At a press conference in Eldoret, Sudi claimed some party officials led by Deputy Chairman David Murathe and Secretary General Raphael Tuju had conspired to change membership of the National Management Committee using the name of the party leader President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Sudi said Jubilee members will not allow anything to be done without involving them.
He called upon leaders to focus on Kenyans’ interest in helping them deal with Covid 19 pandemic rather than engaging in political issues.
However, he wants President Kenyatta to come clear on whether he sanctioned changes to NMC or not.
On his part, Kimilili MP Didmus Barasa insisted that Murathe and his colleagues’ plot is illegal.
“The party is not controlled by anyone as it was formed after several parties joined together in a bid to unite Kenyans,” Barasa said
He said the move subverted the constitution claiming that the changes were not sanctioned by any arm of the party.
