As the country continues to record increasing number of corona virus cases, Uasin Gishu now has six COVID-19 patients who have been isolated and are being treated at Kamalel isolation centre in Racecourse.
Speaking when she visited the facility where other 39 people believed to have come into contact with the victims are quarantined, Uasin Gishu County Executive Committee Member for Health Everlyne Rotich assured the patients and their families of the County Government support.
“I am here to give you assurances of government’s full support to you and your family as you receive medication” CEC Rotich said.
She however applauded Uasin Gishu healthcare providers who are at Kamalel Corona Virus isolation unit for their unswerving dedication and efforts to the fight against the pandemic.
Governor Jackson Mandago has been in forefront in asking residents to strictly adhere to the measures laid by the ministry of health on how to stop the spread of the virus where he added that there have been laxity among residents.
In his facebook account Mandago urged security agencies to tighten their patrols in Eldoret and its Environs.
“Some unscrupulous liquor traders sell alcohol illegally through the backdoor, therefore, not observing the physical distancing rule, and in some instances drinking from one container. I now asked the police officers to tighten the security and to arrest those defying the directives” he lamented
