Court case on dismissal of staff in Nandi County to begin on Monday.

A case in which subordinate staff in Nandi County are challenging their suspension from work is set to start on Monday.

About 42 employees were dismissed for protesting delayed salaries.

Lawyer John Kirwa who is representing the workers said the case was filed on Wednesday at Kapsabet Law Court and summon letters had been issued to the county government.

“We filed the case today and we have served the county secretary, county assembly and the county public service board with summon letters. We look forward to getting justice on Monday,” Lawyer Kirwa exuded confidence.

The subordinate staff have not been paid their salaries since November 2019.

“We demand to be paid. We delivered our services and we hope for justice,” said one of the affected employees.
