Community to do monthly cleaning of Kapsabet town to ridicule unreliable government.
Business community in Kapsabet town have vowed to do clean up of the town every month to protest laxity of Nandi County Government.
The business operators and residents who did the first cleaning of the town on Saturday said there was no turning back.
The sanitation of Kapsabet town had deteriorated after county workers went on go slow over delaying salaries.
On Saturday, Kapsabet ward representative Fred Kipkemboi and his Chemundu-Kapngetuny counterpart Robert Kirwa participated in the exercise.
Benjamin Kuto, the businessman who led the exercise, urged participants to turn up in numbers when a call for another cleaning is made.
Kapsabet municipality manager David sum appreciated the businessmen saying that the county government will ensure that they join hands with other stakeholders to clean the town every month.
” I want to thank the businessmen and women who did the cleaning today. As county government we will join hands with anyone who is ready to upgrade our environment and clean it without including politics in it.” Said Sum
