Four bodies of the Police officers who were swept away last evening in River Kagir in Baringo county have been recovered as three others are still missing.
Out of twelve officers who were in the vehicle, five of them managed to escape as the other seven were carried away by the raging waters.
The officers from Chemoe Anti Stock Theft Unit camp were coming from after a security meeting in Kabarnet at around 7: 30 when the incident happened.
Regional Police Commandant Marcus Ocholla who led the resue team said that the four bodies were recoved seven kilometers down the stream.
“The rescue team is still going on with the search of other three missing officers”,said Ocholla adding that three helicopters are taking part in the search operation.
Baringo county deputy governor Jacob Chepkwony called upon residents to remain calm adding that county government together with the national government have joined hands with the rescue team
