Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi has adopted two siblings who have been staying at a children’s home in Baringo County.
The final legal stages of adopting the two kids aged 18 months and three and a half years who have been under care at Sunrise Children’s home in Kabarnet town is underway.
The legislator took the decision after visiting the facility in Sunday in the company of his family.
The MP said his daughter Lynn Chelagat came up with the decision to visit the home after reading a disheartening story of neglected children who were getting reprieve from the home.
Many of the children at the home were rescued from jaws of malnutrition, poverty, homeless and abandonment by parents.
“My daughter then appealed to me that we should make a visit to the children’s home the soonest. Director Mary Sang hosted us today in the facility, I was really touched and inspired for her selfless role she has been playing in hosting the kids”.said Sudi.
The second term MP said he was glad to have the two children as part of his family.
“together with, will try our best to raise the two kids with care and love” he said.
Sudi spent the rest of the day having fun with the children.
He donated food, clothings and other items to the home and asked other well wishers to lend a hand to the home for efficient operation.
