Affordable Housing should continue despite Court rulings — MP Paul Biego
Chesumei Mp Paul Biego vowed that the government affordable housing project would continue despite facing lawsuits faulting the initiative.
Speaking during the launching of the NG-CDF bursary program in Kosirai Secondary School in his constituency, he said the 2010 constitution demands that every Kenya citizen must be provided with a decent shelter.
And thus Mp Biego accused those who are sabotaging the project claiming to have selfish political interests.
”There is nothing unconstitutional based on the court rulings and the parliament is spearheading the formulation of the bill that will guide on the implementation process,” he stated.
He called upon the judiciary to resist external political influence noting that it compromises their credibility and independence in dispensation of justice.
“Kenyans need affordable service for all. We have made a great milestone to provide Elimu Bora Initiative kitty worth Sh. 45 Million, the beneficiaries are the students from vulnerable families,” he said.
He said that the program represents a crucial step towards uplifting education in the constituency and each student will only pay sh. 1, 500 per year.
