The county of West Pokot has embarked on an adult education program.

Over 40,000 residents of West Pokot county have so far enrolled in an adult education program in their quest to get an education.

Tens of old men and women have been gathering under a tree to learn how to read and write with their biggest challenge – language barrier

Most of the schools in region are overwhelmed as the senior residents stroll in droves into the classes.

The program that started two weeks ago is aimed at increasing literacy levels in the county.
